ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mark Capuano is a lighting designer, programmer, and artist currently studying Theatre (Design/Tech) and Studio Art at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.
He is currently employed at Global Stage Techs as a lighting programmer and technician.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, he was an actor for over a decade, first falling in love with the performing arts at the age of 6. As an adult, he discovered the art form of Lighting Design after enrolling in his first semester of College. The equal combination of art, technology, and performance into one medium fascinated him, becoming his favorite passion.
His ultimate goal as a Lighting Designer is to create a convincing and captivating atmosphere that utilizes the ephemeral medium of light to assist the audience in unlocking a deeper understanding of the world the characters inhabit while enriching the audience’s lives long after the experience is completed.
Mark loves to learn. When he’s not in the theatre, he loves to exercise, listen to podcasts, read, or otherwise enrich himself in the arts, technology, and the world around him.
Some of his favorite books include Color and Light by Clifton Taylor and Backwards and Forwards by David Ball.
His current certifications include:
OSHA:
